In my last post "The Best Free Chrome Extensions for Hacking Instagram Growth", I wrote about extensions that allowed you to auto like, download your Instagram following / follower list, and check your Instagram analytics.
In this part 2 follow up post, I am going to show you which are the best Chrome extensions for gaining followers on Instagram fast.
These extensions help you to:
- Auto like
- Auto unlike
- Auto follow
- Auto unfollow
Which posts you like and who you follow will depend on how you set up the Chrome extension (e.g. who's followers you want to copy, or which hashtags you target).
How to Find Instagram Chrome Extensions
If you want to learn a quick trick on how to find Instagram Chrome extensions, here's the tip.
It is highly likely that you will not find anything useful if you search for Instagram Follower or Instagram Automation because... shhh... these tools technically violate Instagram's terms of service.
They also get shut down because Instagram claim that they misuse Instagram's trademark (especially if they have the word Instagram in the name of the extension).
So here's the trick.
Find and existing Instagram Chrome extension like Everliker. Click on "Related" on the right. Below that you will see related Chrome extensions and that is how you can find other Chrome extensions for Instagram!
But I'll let you in on a little secret. The best IG follow extensions are actually not available on the Chrome store so follow this guide to find and install them yourself.
1. AutoInsta - RECOMMENDED
I was using Autoinsta for most of late 2017 and early 2018. The extension works extremely well and what's best, Marvin (the developer) provides prompt support whenever I encountered any difficulties.
This Instagram Chrome extension is not available on the Chrome store, but you can download a version here.
Pros:
The good thing about using a Chrome extension for Instagram automation is that it does not require you to enter your password, nor is it dependant on Instagram's API. It is also very easy to set up and use.
It is also 100% safe, with no malicious malware inside. I've used (Twitter follow) extensions before that have coin miners installed in them, so you do want to be careful. There are no coin miners in Autoinsta.
Cons:
- You have to leave your computer running all the time.
- If you're managing multiple accounts, you will need to have several browser tabs logged on to different unique accounts and running all the time.
- This can get tricky especially if you want to start using VPNs or private proxies for each account.
Multiple Accounts: If you manage multiple accounts (more than three) and want a solution that runs 24 hours, I would recommend using FollowLiker instead.
Why AutoInsta was #1 for me
Three reasons.
1. Great product which worked really well
2. Great support from Marvin who is responsive, friendly and helpful
3. Most reasonable pricing. I tried using FollowerMonkey first (which was another option, but more expensive at $12.99/month) but Autoinsta was cheaper.
Pricing:
New users get a 10 day free trial after which it costs $5.99 a month. In fact, Autoinsta has a free plan which gives you unlimited likes and unlimited follows.
Results: I was using this on three separate accounts and managed to get them from <1K to over 5-6K in just a couple of months. I could get between 500-1,000 authentic, engaged new followers a month.
The effectiveness of the Chrome extension (and the followback rate) depended largely on the industry or niche.
Some niches are much easier to grow - just because of the nature of the niche.
- Sports teams, for example, are easier than fitness studios, or beauty brands.
- Celebrity / People grow faster than generic Brands accounts
PRO TIP: Get AutoInsta for free with their reward programme
Rewards programme: Autoinsta also has a rewards programme that gives you free months if you write about it or share it on your social media. Imagine that! If you have a large following, you could effectively get this for free!

2. SocialRocket FREE Instgrm Follow Like Bot
Notice how these extensions all deliberately misspell Instagram? That's so that they stay under the radar of the Chrome Store watchdogs.
SocialRocket is a Berlin based Chrome extension
This extension is beautifully designed - I love the colors and the interface.
Pricing:
$6.99 for 1 month
$12.99 for 2 months
$19.99 for lifetime access
You can get a two day free trial, and up to 60% discount if you have more than 5 accounts. However, I would recommend using FollowLiker (see guide here) if you are botting that many accounts.
3. Instech | Automator for Instagram
4. Auto Follower for Instagram
5. GrowBot Automator for Instagram
Pricing: $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year.
The bot comes with a two week free trial. After that, you can get another 7 days of free trial by subscribing.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of the interface. It is very messy and I find it far too confusing.
5. DISCONTINUED Extensions
There are many discontinued extensions - Follow Spider, Follower Monkey, RoboInsta. Many of them are kicked out of the Chrome webstore and close down.
That is why I recommend AutoInsta.me - it's been around for a long time, plus it stays off the Chrome Webstore, which means it can't ever be shut down.
I generally do not recommend that you use any Chrome Extension that uses the word "Instagram" in it, because the chances of getting shut down are high, and the last thing you want is for you to have all your settings, whitelist, follow / unfollow settings wiped out.
